Course: CMI Diploma in Management & Leadership at Level 5
Rosemarie rose through the ranks thanks to what she learnt at Barking & Dagenham College. She is now Deputy Manager of Westminster Homecare in Havering.
“I started at Westminster Homecare in 2001 as a Care Support Worker, working within the community with just a little experience,” she begins.
Rosemarie wanted to pursue a career as Registered Care Manager, but did not know the next step to take. She browsed the internet to find … Barking & Dagenham College. “It was very appealing, so I applied for Health & Social Care Level 3, to see what it was like. When I met the staff, they were so friendly, the hospitality was second to none. I felt a sense of belonging straight away.”
Rosemarie started her NVQ3 Health & Social care in April 2007 as a Care Worker. With this qualification, she was able to get a promotion as a Field Care Supervisor and a salary raise. Within six months in her new role, she was promoted to Care Coordinator. She started Level 4 Health & Social Care in September 2008 and finished in August 2009.
“This was a big boost to my career,” says Rosemarie. “In August 2009, I was promoted to Deputy Manager. I am blessed to know that I am able to pass on what I learn to my staff.”
But Rosemarie’s learning did not end there.
For Introduction to Leadership and Management Level 4, she was assesed “in the comfort of my work environment.”
Rosemarie is now enrolled on the CMI Diploma in Management & Leadership at Level 5.
