Hoping to be a London 2012 ambassador, Sarah – a second-year IT learner at Barking & Dagenham College – is waiting to hear whether she has secured the prestigious role.
At interview, she was asked how she would deal with difficult questions from tourists and provide information in an organised manner to large numbers of people.
She also learnt about what would be expected of her in the role. Situated at various tourist stations across London, the ambassadors will providing information and assistance to the large numbers of people traveling to the Olympic stadium.
Sarah, who is a keen player of sports, was enthusiastic to be involved in London 2012, explaining, “ It’s a once in a life time thing – unless I move to another country! I’m quite sporty, so I wanted to be involved.”
Sarah plays hockey, tennis, football and basketball in her spare time. She is also a police cadet and might be volunteering with them also.
She will hear back in November whether she has been successful.
