An apprentice for your business

Apprenticeship case study

What is an apprenticeship?

How much does it cost?

The apprenticeship training
we offer

Apprenticeships help businesses to develop a well-qualified and motivated workforce. Here at Barking & Dagenham College we train hundreds of apprentices every year, so we know first-hand the benefits they can offer to businesses large and small.

Typically, your apprentice would be employed by your company but, if you would rather not take on the additional human resources and PAYE responsibilities, there is an alternative solution.

About Apprenticeships Work Ltd

We have launched Apprenticeships Work Ltd to provide a simple and flexible solution for businesses who would benefit from an apprentice but who are put off by the paperwork.

Very simply, Apprenticeships Work Ltd would recruit and employ the apprentice for you and hire them out to your business for an all-inclusive weekly fee.

That leaves you free to concentrate on running your business, leaving us to manage the recruitment, payroll and on-going HR admin on your behalf.

What are the benefits to your business?

Training an apprentice is a cost-effective solution to securing a motivated, loyal and driven employee who is interested in developing a career in your industry.

Through their apprenticeship programme an apprentice will keep up-to-date with the latest developments in your industry. And they will share those skills with their co-workers, so your business benefits from skills transfer, as Alliance Facilities Ltd have found.

“Our apprentice learns the latest theory and techniques at Barking & Dagenham College and passes these on to our workforce. It’s great because we all benefit and that’s got to be good for business.”

Debbie O’Connor, Operatives Manager at Alliance Facilities Ltd
– they have been a client of the College for about 5 years.
