  1. 17 year old wins Outstanding Achievement Award at London Fashion Week

    A fashion design student from East London saw her work showcased at London Fashion Week on 19th September after being named as a finalist in a competition for budding young fashion designers.Fashion Futures is a national competition run by award-winning charity Fashion Awareness Direct (FAD). The charity offers young people an opportunity to get ahead in creative careers, regardless of their personal circumstances, financial situation or ethnic background.

    A Barking & Dagenham College team raised over £1,200 by abseiling 262 feet down the UK’s tallest sculpture, the iconic ArcelorMittal Orbit towering over the site of the London 2012 Games, in aid of Richard House Children’s Hospice.

    A budding entrepreneur who set up a business to simplify accounting for SMEs has been awarded a prize of £750 in the Edge Challenge – a national enterprise competition.

    Surya Srinivas Dinavahi (19), a student at Barking & Dagenham College, submitted his business proposal, including financial and marketing plans, alongside hopefuls from all over the country.

    Saracens first team player, Jackson Wray, helped launch the Barking & Dagenham College Rugby Academy recently, celebrating the College’s new status as a Saracens Academy partner. Barking & Dagenham College is the only London centre to partner with this world famous name in rugby union, giving students from across the region an opportunity to train with the team behind the 2014/15 Aviva Premiership champions.
