Marsh Green Primary School drummers perform at Youth Conference
9 October 2017
Conference, held at Barking & Dagenham College, was organised to give young people a genuine opportunity to lead a conversation about arts and culture in the borough.
Schools from across Barking and Dagenham each sent a student representative and a teacher to debate and discuss what culture means to them, clarifying the opportunities and shortcomings in the borough.
The talented youngsters sang and played drums to a Brazilian piece called Magdalenha to a packed crowd at Barking & Dagenham College and received rapturous applause.
Head Teacher of Marsh Green Primary School Natalie Sanchez was in the audience and commented: “Drumming and singing gives the children amazing confidence and inspiration that they can achieve anything! The children love to perform, displaying confidence and independence. This also means they love to come to school and take up the many opportunities we provide for individuals to express themselves creatively.”
The fantastic performance was filmed and placed on the College’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/barkingdagenhamcollege/videos/1454483571255837/
