    A Barking & Dagenham College student has received the Outstanding Commitment to Study Award at the annual Keith Fletcher Awards ceremony. Jane Lacey, 42, from Romford received her prize from Nic Dakin MP, at a prestigious reception held at the Palace of Westminster this week (5th March). Over 25,000 other nominated students were vying for the top award, so Jane’s win is a great achievement.

    Sandra Coats, 57, from Romford has been awarded the British Empire Medal in the Queen's New Year Honours List in recognition of her outstanding contribution to Barking & Dagenham College where she works as a Catering Assistant. "Absolutely delighted, I am over the moon," said Sandra, "It is a great honour and I am very grateful to Barking & Dagenham College for nominating me. It is fantastic to know that my efforts have been recognised."
