This is a popular area of study, with courses available for school leavers, those returning to study after a break, and for those who are already working or volunteering in the sector and who want gain further qualifications to progress into managerial roles.
Our Health and Social care courses are for those who want to work with adults over 18 years of age.
We currently have 4 courses available.
- NCFE CACHE Level 1: Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children's and Young People's Settings Level 1
- NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate and Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2
- NCFE CACHE Level 3 Award and Certificate in Health and Social Care Level 3
- NCFE CACHE Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3
From Student to Leader: you learn from the professionals
Micheala Harris is your Curriculum Team Leader for Health & Social Care, Adult Care, Science, Youth Work, and Counselling courses.
Micheala has gone from student to a leading member of our team. She studied childcare with us in 1982, and has held various roles within the education, social and private sectors and is qualified to teach both primary and post-16 education.
She has managed a large residential care home and has wide experience of teaching children who are hearing impaired.
Micheala also has a degree in management.

Careers in the USA and Europe were on offer to students at the annual Care, Health and Early Learning Employment Fair at Barking & Dagenham College recently. In its fifteenth year, the fair brought together employers from across the South East, keen to attract talented students to their business.
