Sincordia provide web design, development, hosting and digital marketing services across the whole of the UK. They are based in Romford, London and Leamington Spa, Warwickshire and have been established for over 10 years providing web solutions to many different businesses and individuals.
The company approached us to recruit an IT apprentice and the process to fulfil this requirement was underway. As well as starting the process we also discussed with the company whether they had other recruitment needs. The company advised us that they were looking for a Junior Web Designer and asked us if we had a means to advertise the post. The college’s existing students could be a source of interest.
How we helped
The company was asked to forward the job specification for the role and we promoted the role to our IT students completing client-led web design project programmes; specific to the technologies identified in the job specification.
The college’s programme leader for HND computing programmes was quick to respond and made contact with Sincordia, providing the name of a student who had been achieving good results and was keen to take up the opportunity.
The student was encouraged to make direct contact with the company and send his CV. Things moved quickly and the student was invited in for an interview.
Sincordia were very impressed with the student and felt he would fit in well with the company. A second, technical session interview was arranged.
Following the second interview the company offered the student the position of junior web designer. The student accepted the offer and will start work once he has completed his studies.
With the experience knowledge and support gained within the company, he is expected to progress to the next level as a web developer and become a very valuable member of their team.
