Japan Tsunami Appeal / British Red Cross – Print Sale

This touching image was composed by folding family photos into origami flowers and photographing the result.

It is by Foundation Degree in Photography learner Nadine Attzs, who collects a prestigious African Caribbean Education Schools and Youth project ACES Award on Friday 1 April 2011.

More than 8,000 people have died in the disaster, thousands are injured and at least 12,000 are missing. Many people are living in evacuation centres as 14,000 homes have been destroyed and around 100,000 are damaged.

Following the recent catastrophic earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster in Japan, the learners and staff of the photography department at Barking & Dagenham College have set up a ‘Print Sale’ to raise money for those affected by this tragic event that has caused terrible loss of life and damage to the country’s infrastructure.

All proceeds of the sale will go to the  the British Red Cross to support their efforts in Japan.

You can help support the Red Cross Appeal by purchasing an original signed 16″ x 12″ print created by our photography learners at Barking & Dagenham College. Each print costs just £10. Here’s how you do it.
