National Holocaust Memorial Day

Staff member Doug Trengove, Co-ordinator for Foundation Support, Additional Learning Support, arranged the event.

The College took time to remember the Holocaust and victims of Nazi Persecution, Cambodia, Bosnia, Rwanda and Darfur on Friday 27 January.

The memorial has been marked by the College the last 3 years. Each year a theme is selected for the occasion. 2012’s theme was ‘Speak up, Speak out,’ learners were asked to consider the hatred and discrimination they saw around them and ‘Speak Up.’

Around the College Learners have been taught about the Holocaust and lit a candle in respect. Life skills learners, pictured with the memorial candle, have been learning about Anne Frank and wrote their own diaries.
