There was glamour in the air at the launch of our brand new commercial beauty Salon on Thursday 19 January. We had a number of VIP guests including MP for Barking, Margaret Hodge.
The Salon is the College’s latest industry standard training facility, which will offer high quality product treatments and the latest beauty techniques using top of the range products from Dermalogica and Essie.
Open to the public, the Salon will offer a wide range of beauty treatments at pocket friendly prices. Beauty therapy students will provide the top quality treatments, under the guidance of our expert tutors.
At the launch, Vice Principal Lesley Graham said to the guests: “As you look around, I am sure you will agree that we have made a significant investment to provide a training environment that is absolutely of a standard you would find in industry, if not better.
“The College’s USP is providing real work for our students and this is a prime example of that philosophy in action” Lesley added.
It was then up to Margaret Hodge MP to officially open the Salon by cutting the red ribbon.
Margaret said: “The Salon looks incredible. I’m really impressed by how much work has been put in by everyone.”
“The Salon will give students the opportunity to gain the skills and experience they need to secure jobs when they complete their courses. That’s fantastic. I wish everyone the very best of luck.”
The Salon will open to the public from Tuesday 24 January 2012. Bookings can be made by calling 020 8090 3020 extension 7118 or emailing theSalon@barkingdagenhamcollege.ac.uk or just pop into the Salon.
