17th July 2018

Barking & Dagenham College?s digital and creative industries department was awarded with a plaque by the Career Colleges Trust last week.

They became a Digital & Creative Industries Career College in 2015 to ensure that their training is designed by employers so that young people have the right skills for the many jobs available in the digital and creative industries.

At their annual award ceremony in London, the Career Colleges Trust presented Barking & Dagenham College with the plaque for its contribution to employer-led education.

18 year old IT student Edward Flack from Barking & Dagenham College was at the ceremony. Edward took part in an Amazon/Comic Relief project earlier this year which was organised by the Trust, he said: “This experience helped me with my public speaking and interview techniques as well as problem solving. It also gave me ‘real experience’ to include on my CV and as a result, I’ve got an interview for a job at a great company tomorrow!”
