This year?s theme for UK Disability History Month (22nd November to 22nd December) is Disability and Music.
To mark the launch of a month of events at Barking & Dagenham College, three students from the College’s Horizons programme for students with learning difficulties and disabilities put on a show.
Teja Seehra, Travis Porter and Opeyemi Akerele, treated fellow students to an enjoyable musical performance in the Student Lounge. The trio improvised some bold tunes and rhythms using drums, the tabla and a ukulele.
The College has also set up a poster display to celebrate a variety of famous disabled musicians past and present, with a quiz to test students’ knowledge of music history.
