Football students during their trip to spain

Students learn football tips from top Spanish coaches

15th July 2015

Fourteen sports students from Barking & Dagenham College have spent two weeks in Spain to enhance their footballing skills.

The students travelled to Seville for the training camp, which saw them coached by La Liga coaches. La Liga is the top professional football league division in Spain, so to be trained by its coaches was a great honour.

The trip was a reward for the students who have excelled both on the pitch and academically throughout the year. As well as giving them the chance to train with international coaches it also helped develop the students’ skills training in unfamiliar surroundings.

In addition to their training, the students also had the chance to explore the beautiful sights of Seville.

Jimmy Martin, Director of the Football Academy at Barking & Dagenham College said:

“The students really enjoyed interacting with the locals, learning Spanish and of course, training with the La Liga coaches. It was a great opportunity for them and one that was well-deserved for all the hard work they have put in this year.”
