Childcare students from Barking & Dagenham College met a celebrity on a Christmas outing to the pantomime Dick Whittington last week.
The rags to riches tale of a young man and his cat on a quest for fame and fortune starred Love Island and Dancing on Ice's Wes Nelson in the star role.
The students were delighted to meet him after the show and clamoured to get photos with the celebrity.
In 2018, Nelson rose to fame when he reached the final of the fourth series of the ITV2 dating reality series, Love Island. In January this year, Nelson participated in Dancing on Ice and finished as runner-up. In October, he began competing in The X Factor: Celebrity as part of a group called No Love Lost, composed of fellow former Love Island stars Samira Mighty, Zara McDermott and Eyal Booker.
Dick Whittington is showing at the Thameside Theatre in Grays to until 5th January 2020.
