Barking & Dagenham College student John Taylor took part in WorldSkills UK, in Birmingham, for furniture making and joinery.
WorldSkills is the UK's largest interactive apprenticeships, skills and careers event. It is also the home of the UK National Finals of more than 70 WorldSkills UK Competitions, giving the most talented apprentices and students the chance to be named as the UK’s best in their chosen skill.
John excelled in the regional heats and was selected to represent the South East region in the national finals.
John, 25, is a carpentry apprentice from Dagenham and had an amazing experience competing at the event with some of the very best carpenters in the UK.
