Wall art exhibition at college

15th January 2018

The College invited two well-known street artists Marc Craig and Angus Castle to teach students who wanted to learn about wall art in addition to their normal studies.

The pair has worked on numerous projects including the famous ‘Banksy Tunnel’, an authorised graffiti area near Waterloo station.

The two instructors worked with the students to bring out their inner artist skills to create a huge mural, over the course of 6 weeks. The duo advised them to ‘find their voice through art’, be bold and let their creative spirits free and commented that: “Barking & Dagenham College has some very talented students.”

The resulting mural will be showcased next week on Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd January within the College’s own art gallery. Admission is free.

Karen Boxall, Learner Involvement Coordinator at the College said: “This extra-curricular project has encouraged our students to be creative and interact with different groups; a great way to bring students together.

The final designs are amazing and very vibrant.”
