Games industry experts inspire the next generation
21 November 2017
The UK has a long history of making world-class video games and the global market is worth over $100bn. The UK is a major player, with the UK games industry directly employing 12,100 full-time employees, 9,400 of which are working in game development
Over 100 students packed out Barking & Dagenham College’s conference suite to hear BeefJack talk about the games industry and present a new game that they are making.
Sam Jude of BeefJack said: “It was a really great session and I'm honoured to have been in front of such bright, enthusiastic students. I hope that our talk inspired a few minds and hopefully we will see many of them shaping the games industry for years to come.
Level 3 Games Art & Animation students were thrilled with the experience:
Shaun Wilshin, 20 from Romford remarked: “The Masterclass was really informative and it opened my eyes to other aspects of the games industry, such as mobile gaming and the importance of the use of social media and marketing.”
And his fellow games student, 18 year old Arestina Volungeviciute, also from Romford added: “I found it so interesting; it was great to find out more about the games industry from people who actually work in it.”
