Students jump(er) into action for charity
5 December 2014
Students at Barking & Dagenham College are busy making their Christmas sweaters in preparation for a unique fashion show as part of Christmas Jumper Day on 12th December.
The show is the brainchild of students in the College’s Compass programme for 14-19 year olds. They decided to host a fashion show for students and staff to raise money for Save the Children, the charity behind the Jumper Day campaign.
They enlisted the help of the learning difficulties and disabilities students at the College to assist them in creating the show and all their hard work is paying off. They’re set to have over 20 Christmas jumpers ready for the catwalk in the ‘Make the World Better with a Sweater’ fashion show!
Diana Aynaci, tutor at Barking & Dagenham College said:
“All the students are getting really excited about the fashion show. It will be a great opportunity for them to showcase their talents to other students in the college – and a great way to make some money for charity too!”
