Hannah Lowe is a writer who has published books of poetry, and most recently a memoir, Long Time No See, which features as Radio 4's Book of the Week in July 2015.
Her poetry has been short-listed for a number of prestigious prizes, including the Forward First Collection Prize. She was named as one of 20 Next Generation Poets in 2014 by the Poetry Book Society.
She is completing at PhD in Creative Writing, and teaches Creative Writing at university.
Hannah studied at our School for Performing Arts & Technical Theatre at Barking & Dagenham College 1992-1994, and says of her time with us:
"The encouragement I had from my tutors fostered my love of literature and encouraged a radical, critical approach to reading, and a new engagement with politics through literature.
"Barking & Dagenham College was liberating, with students from all backgrounds studying a wide range of subjects. My College experience set me on the path to my career as a teacher and writer.”
