A streamlined introduction to the film and television industry.

Focuses on understanding the industry (including work placement opportunities!) and developing vital practical skills, readying students for work opportunities!

The course will cover factual programming, 2D animation, advertising production, critical approaches, working to a brief, and creative media production management.

This is a hands-on course, so your projects will be assessed over the year. There are no formal exams.

You will need 4 or more GCSE grades at 4 or above including English, OR Merit or above in an appropriate Level 2 qualification, with Level 2 Functional Skills Maths and English.

You will also need to provide a portfolio of Media work, as well as a reference.

Our experienced teaching staff have industry experience from a range of creative media sectors.

Renowned broadcasters and companies within the film and TV industry offer work experience opportunities for students with the right skills and enthusiasm!

You can progress onto the second year of this programme, the BTEC Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production.

Where it can lead to

There are number of routes you can take following successful completion of a course. Further study can include Higher Education courses or a Higher Apprenticeship where you will expand your skills through study whilst earning a wage. Or you may choose to move directly into employment.
