The Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair is designed for students who are interested in developing their experience in order to work in the motor vehicle service and repair sector.

- Skills in Removing and Replacing Light Vehicle Engine Units and Components
- Knowledge of Light Vehicle Engine Mechanical, Lubrication and Cooling System Units & Components
- Knowledge of Light Vehicle Fuel, Ignition, Air and Exhaust Systems Units and Components.
- Skills in Removing and Replacing Light Vehicle Electrical Units and Components
- Knowledge of Removing and Replacing Light Vehicle Electrical Units and Components
- Skills in Routine Light Vehicle Maintenance
- Knowledge of Routine Light Vehicle Maintenance
- Skills in Removing and Replacing Light Vehicle Chassis Units and Components
- Knowledge of Removing and Replacing Light Vehicle Chassis Units and Components
- Knowledge of Removing and Replacing Light Vehicle Transmission and Driveline

Each Unit is assessed through practical-based observed tasks, written assessments and online exams
For direct entry on to the Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, a minimum of 3 GCSE’s Grade 4 and above in English, Maths and one other, or successful completion of C & G Level 1 Certificate/Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance or Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Inspection
Completion of the course can lead to the IMI Level 3 Diploma in Maintenance & Repair, with suitable GCSE Grades and interview, alternatively employment in the automotive industry and follow a Motor Vehicle Apprenticeship.
