A practical, hands-on course which includes several outward-bound trips and a week-long residential stay in Wales, run by former Army personnel!

On this course you'll learn a range of practical public services skills including teamwork, problem-solving and effective communication. These will all help your job prospects.

You'll also learn about the different public services and their roles.

There are a range of assessments for this course:

  • Practical
  • Observations
  • Group work
  • Presentations
  • Written assignments

There are no specific entry requirements for this course.

There's the opportunity to do voluntary work alongside your course, which will help your learning and your job prospects.

On successful completion of this course you can move on to the Public Services Level 2 programme.

Where it can lead to

There are number of routes you can take following successful completion of a course. Further study can include Higher Education courses or a Higher Apprenticeship where you will expand your skills through study whilst earning a wage. Or you may choose to move directly into employment.
