This course is a one-year, full-time study programme for learners who want to specialize in sector specific, occupational or technical role by developing sector and transferable practical and technical skills, attributes and behaviours to enable learners to progress onto further study and employment.
To achieve this qualification, learners will study a total of 4 mandatory units of which one is an externally assessed exam unit, aimed at understanding organizational and operational structure of businesses, their environments and factors influencing success of a business enterprise though participating in discussion, entrepreneurial and charitable projects, fund raising events, business competitions and written assignments.
Mandatory Units:
- Unit 1: The Business Enterprise Environment
- Unit 2: Researching a Concept for a New or Revised Product or Service
- Unit 3: Promoting and Financing an Enterprise Idea
- Unit 4: Planning and Pitching an Enterprise Idea
The course includes a range of assessment types and styles suited to vocational qualifications in the sector. 3 units are internally assessed and are graded using a grading scale of Distinction, Merit, Pass and Unclassified subject to external standards verification.
There is 1 exam unit in this qualification.
5 GCSEs A-C including Maths and English or a minimum of grade 3.
Learners will also have the opportunity to prepare and resit GCSE Maths and English as part of their study programme.
The Learners could progress onto L3 Diploma in Business. Alternatively, they could progress into L3 Apprenticeships or employment as marketing research assistant, business development advisor or sales assistant.
