This course is aimed at teachers, lecturers or anyone interested in digital learning design.
It is designed to show educators how to plan the curriculum to incorporate learning technologies.
You will study 4 mandatory units:
- Curriculum Delivery Using Learning Technology
- Curriculum Planning for the Use of Learning Technologies
- Developing Digital Skills and a Learning Technology Toolkit
- Learning Technology in the Context of Teaching and Learning
The focus is on how these can be achieved in your own subject specialism, and how learning theory and teaching pedagogy can be used to support digital learning.
You will be introduced to a range of learning technology and asked to evaluate and share your experiences with other learners.
You will learn how to set up and use a Google Classroom, and how to submit your assignments via this platform.
All assessment is internal. You will be assessed via written assignments, reflective accounts, observation of your practice, work products (such as design specifications for digital products, session plans and screencasts), case studies and discussions with your tutor.
You will also need to produce a Personal Development Plan for your digital skills.
You do not need to have any previous knowledge, experience or qualifications - just a passion for teaching.
If already teaching, this is valuable Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to help you upskill digitally.
If you want to get into teaching, you could progress to the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training course.
You could also use this qualification as a basis for a career in Digital Learning Design.
