An ideal programme if you want to work as a supervisor or Assistant Site Manager for a main contractor.

You could be working in areas like building & civil engineering, highways maintenance & repair, residential development, conservation and demolition.

Your qualification will cover subjects such as:

  • Assessing & Recommending Work Methods for Carrying out Site Operations
  • Planning Activities & Resources to Meet Work Requirements
  • Coordinating & Organising the Control of Work
  • Controlling Work Process Against Agreed Programmes

Assessment will be through an onsite visit, an evidence-based portfolio review, and an assessment workshop (if required).

Typically cyou'll need to have achieved A Levels or grade C or above in at least 5 GCSEs including English, Mathematics and a Science.

Alternatively you may have completed a Level 3 Construction Technical & Professional apprenticeship.

If you haven't achieved Level 2 English & Maths you'll need to study Functional Skills to reach this level before taking the end-point assessment.

Complete the apprenticeship and you can progress to higher and advanced programmes in Construction which are available at Levels 4, 5 & 6.

You can also move into roles with supervisory or management responsibility in a chosen specialist technical activity. These include building and civil engineering, highways and maintenance repair, residential development, conservation, demolition and tunnelling.

Your NVQ will enable you to get a Gold CSCS card - ideal for accessing work opportunities on big sites with large organisations.
