As a Lead Adult Care Worker you'll make a positive difference to people's lives when they're faced with physical, practical, social, emotional or intellectual challenges.
You could find yourself working in the NHS, the private sector, for local authorities or in the voluntary sector.
There are two pathways on this apprenticeship - Adult Social Care and Health Care. Either one requires that you learn about the following subjects relevant to care settings:
- Safeguarding & Protection
- Responsibilities of a Care Worker
- Promotion of Personal Development
- Promotion of Health, Safety & Wellbeing
- Effective Handling of Information
- Duty of Care
- Promotion of Equality & Inclusion
- Promotion of Person-Centred Approaches
Ideally you'll have GCSEs in English & Maths at grade 4 (C) or above - or Level 2 Key Skills or Functional Skills) - to join the programme.
If you don't have these qualifications, you'll need to work towards Level 2 Functional Skills alongside your apprenticeship.
Complete this programme and you'll have options!
The apprenticeship will stand you in good stead for progression onto Higher Education courses in nursing or midwifery.
You'll also be well placed to take on a department practitioner role in the care sector.
