This course is for anyone who would like to learn about the role of an interpreter and work with different linguistic groups within the community.
You will explore the public and voluntary organisations and identify in what ways they support community needs. You will also learn how to use language skills to the best advantage as an interpreter.
You'll complete a portfolio for each of the three mandatory units.
You will need to be fluent in English (at least Level 1) as well as another language.
You will start building your network, researching potential organisations with the sectors where interpreters may be required to work.
You will be able to progress to a Level 2 in Community Interpreting, or into employment.
