This qualification is aimed at teachers, assessors, progress coaches or trainers. It is for people who need to be able to both coach and mentor individuals in a range of settings including on-the-job, in a training provider, FE College, Adult Learning Service or a company’s internal training department. As a level 3 Certificate, it has breadth and depth and includes observation of practice.
You will learn the core skills, knowledge and understanding needed to support learners in a coaching and mentoring capacity.
There are 5 mandatory units:
- Preparing for the Coaching Role
- Coaching Skills
- Engaging Others in the Learning and Development Process
- Understanding Mentoring
- Mentoring Practice
Through a portfolio of evidence which could include:
- assignments
- observations of practice
- witness statements
- work products
- reflective accounts
Blended learning using a combination of online Google Meet or Zoom sessions, learning materials on Google Classroom and face-to-face training sessions.
You must be occupationally competent in the vocational area in which you are providing coaching and mentoring, and must show good use of spoken English. |
