The Molecular Fizz Academy, run by Cam and Orbi of Company Drinks (a social enterprise initiative based in Barking Park) invited our Business, Entrerprise and Entrepenuership students to join their new programme. The programme ran over 6 weeks and gave students the opportunity to visit other social enterprises around London, and learned more about how to grow a small business.

Some of our students had a try at creating their own fizzy drinks as part of their studies.

Students were given the opportunity to create their own flavoured drinks and design the labels. At the end of the programme, they pitched their drinks to the owners of Mae J’s Cafe in Peckham.

Their tutor Giuditta Meneghetti said: “This was amazing opportunity to see how small community businesses do what they do best.”

Gaile said: "It was a great experience to learn about how the soft drink industry works. I now know that it is possible to have a business, even with limited resources.

It made me believe that even with a little experience, so long as you are passionate, you can turn it into a success.”

The students have been working together on a number of projects to raise funds for social events and have been donating to homeless charities for over a 2 years.

Gaile, Victoria and Mihaela (pictured with their certificates) are all due to complete their BTEC in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship later this summer, and the trio all plan to progress onto Level 4 Apprenticeships next year.
